Fishy Sunday

Sundays cooking has to have something different, something yummy and today Hubby wanted me to prepare Fish. Sadly I am not very good at making fish curry/ fry and personally I am not a huge fan either but I found a very very simple fish curry recipe which turned out very tasty too πŸ™‚

Here is the recipe and I got it from a very nice blog called Simple and Delicious!

Fish ( I used nai-meen or seer fish) – 250gms

Onions – 1 chopped finely

Tomato – 1 chopped finely

Tamarind used in Fish – 1 lemon sized (soaked in water)

Shallots – 4/5 finely chopped

Karipatta – as many as you like

Green Chillies – 3/4 cut lengthwise

Coconut Milk – 2 cups think

Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp

Chilli Powder – 1 tsp ( as per your requirement you can put more)

Coriander powder – 3 tsp

Salt – to taste

Oil to cook

The method I used is the following one ( there is another method as well. Both of them are given there)

1. Combine Onions+tomato+ tamarind and its water+ coconut milk+ salt + all the powders(masalas) in a pan and bring it to boil.

2. Let the onions soften and then add fish.

3. Cover and cook till fish is done. Remove from flame.

4. Take another pan, heat oil. Add the shallots, let them fry for a minute. Add the curry leaves and green chillies. Five it a toss and then add this to the fish curry.

I served this curry with boiled rice.Β  Hubby says it was awesome and I thought that too. Thanks to Simple and Delicious!, we had a nice fishy Sunday πŸ™‚
