Dinosaur Week!

I finally gave into Aarya’s new love, Dinosaurs! And decided to go about designing his time around this Dino theme πŸ™‚ Starting off with a Sensory bin πŸ™‚ This was a last-minute assemble πŸ™‚ I put in –

1) A tub with Flour + cocoa+ water = yummy-smelling-mud.

2) A smaller tub of water with a little blue food coloring

3) Brown beans (Rajma)

4) Lot of Dinos. 1 set same from a CrosswordΒ and the other one Wild Republic (via Babyoye.com)

Aarya did not like the mud… he smelled and tasted it as well ( but did not like it..LOL!) The dinos which accidentally fell in the mud were taken to the basin and washed πŸ™‚ He played the longest with just the water and the dinos.

All the Dinos he did not like were left in the mud πŸ˜€

We also made some mud prints…

Chocolaty mud prints.

Then we made some fossils πŸ™‚

chocolate playdough in tiny lids of which the impressions were made again and again πŸ™‚
Lot of pressing smoothing and pressing πŸ™‚

  1. I love the mud prints you made!! We recently did a dinosaur unit too, and had a ton of fun! I’m so glad you shared this at Teach Me Tuesday at Preschool Powol Packets!!

  2. I love those dinosaur fossils! We made some sensory dirt a little while ago with baking soda and cocoa powder. My kids liked the smell of it, but definitely NOT the taste. I didn’t exactly encourage them to taste it though, πŸ˜‰ I might have to use our sensory dirt with a dinosaur sensory bin. That looks like a lot of fun!

    1. Haha, no I did not encourage him… but the smell I tell you got him tempted πŸ™‚ Baking Soda and Cocoa sounds awesome combo – and I will try it next πŸ™‚ Thank you!

I love to hear your thoughts!
