Weekend Musings

Yesterday we went on the Mumbai Locals for the first time! My very good friend, a book lover too, took the major risk of taking an unpredicatable friend and her 4 yr old sonalong! I almost whined .. I almost got frustrated…. but my son.. he was an ace all through. He drank in the experience, enjoyed every bit of it and crashed into his bed with a happy face! We had gone to Somaya Bhavan to be at our happy place, an awesome bookstore Kitab Khana! There picture book collection is exquisite and it such a cosy place that you don’t want to come out. H had to literally drag me out or did I drag her out? Even though I do most of my shopping online including books, once in a while I really love to spend time sifting through books to bring back favorite for our shelves!

While we are on the topic of shopping, did you hear about the Great Online Shopping Festival. (GOSF)? I didn’t know about it, until I stumbled upon an email from Hopscotch.in about it. There are awesome discounts, prizes to be won and loads of savings on regular – priced items! So if you regularly shop at Flipkart, Amazon, Babyoye and the likes, I am sure you will find there site beneficial. The GOSF goes live in less than 3 days and I cannot wait to get discounts for my favorite sites – Amazon, Flipkart, Babyoye and Hopscotch! And as I order my food via Foodpanda.com I cannot wait for the Justeat Coupons. Go check them out and see if your favorite retailer is hosting GOSF?

This weekend, Mumbaikars are you planning on going to the Christmas Fest at Race Course? They seem to be awesome! We have a Christmas Fest on the 13th and 14th Dec at Whispering Palms here in Kandivali East, we are definitely going there! And on 14th do not forget the Little Farmer’s Event hosted by Candy Can Club!! I really really want to be there!

What events are you looking forward to in the coming days?

  1. Looks like such a lovely place. In Bangalore, we have one store called Oxford Book store and it seems similar, but still the place is so small 🙁

  2. Sounds like such a wonderful place. There really is something special about shopping at bookstores. The touch and feel of books, flipping through the pages….. Just not there online. Glad you had a good time. BTW I stayed for sometime very close to where you are. Sounds good to hear from someone from K (E).

  3. I am so waiting for my daughter to be 4 so she can make sense why her mother is either shouting or ordering her around :P…wonderful post, but I read it too late and missed the Mumbai christmas fest 🙁

I love to hear your thoughts!
